Locally-grown, the easiest definition suited for this description is “food that is locally grown”. But this definition can be expressed thoroughly. Locally-grown is grown within a hundred miles of its point of sale. The produce is also not trucked to and from in large amounts but in small amounts to one specific market for sale.
Fruits and vegetables in a way, are like birds. Birds only mate at certain times of the year, this is referred to as mating season. Just like birds, fruits and vegetables only grow in certain seasons. For examples tomatoes are grown mostly in summer, but if certain habitats have a summertime atmosphere, then tomatoes will grow.
Sustainable, it means “able to be maintained at a certain rate or level”. This definition collaborates directly with the tomato example. If a certain habitat has a summertime atmosphere, then this habitat can sustain tomatoes being grown.
